Using the Picturelife plugin for Lightroom

An introduction to publishing photos and videos from Lightroom to your Picturelife library. First and foremost, make sure you've installed and set up the plugin. If you have not done this, or are not sure you did it correctly, find step by step instructions for Windows and Mac How it works (generally):

  • Publish or export Albums and Smart Albums
  • Publish or export single or batch photos to a new or existing Picturelife album

Publish selected photos to a new or existing Picturelife album

  1. From your Lightroom catalogue, select one or more photos that you want to export to Picturelife
  2. Right click on the selected photos and choose Export / Export (in the Export sub menu)
  3. From the Export To drop down menu, select Picturelife
  4. The photos will be published to an album - find and select "New Album" or "Existing Album"
    • New Album - click Export > type in a name for the new album, add an (optional) description, and select Privacy level > click Create. Photos will be exported to Picturelife.
    • Existing Picturelife Album - select the destination album from the Existing Albums drop down - you can filter existing albums by date created and alphabetically > click Export. Photos will be exported to Picturelife.

A few things to note:

  • The Export to New or Existing Albums menu may take a second to load. If the options are greyed out, it means Lightroom is processing your information. Album export options will be available shortly therafter.
  • You can find the export status bar in the top left of the Lightroom screen to watch your export progress
  • After photos are exported from Lightroom, Picturelife still needs to process them on the Picturelife back end before they're visible in your library. Please allow some time for this to happen.

Publish a new Album or Smart Album to Picturelife

  1. Right click on Picturelife under the Publish Services menu
  2. Select Create Album or Create Smart Album
  3. Name the album and adjust Privacy settings and Image Export settings for the album, then click Create
  4. Add photos to the album (drag and drop from a collection, or apply Smart Album settings to selected photos)
  5. Once the album is populated, open the album and click Publish (top right of the screen)
  6. As photos are published to Picturelife, they'll move from "New Photos to Publish" to "Published Photos".

After photos are published from Lightroom, they still need to be processed by the Picturelife back end before they're visible in your library. Please allow some time for this to happen.

Add new photos to an existing Lightroom Album or Smart Album and publish the updates to Picturelife

Scenario: you've created a Smart Album for 5-star rated photos, and published the Smart Album to Picturelife. Yesterday, you took some really awesome photos, and rated them 5 stars in Lightroom, and now you want the Picturelife album to reflect these new photos. Good news - it's super easy to do.

  1. Open the updated Album or Smart Album from the Picturelife Publisher Services list
    • Photos that have not yet been published to Picturelife will appear under "New Photos to Publish"
  2. Find and click Publish (located in the top right corner of the screen).
  3. As photos are published to Picturelife, they'll move from "New Photos to Publish" to "Published Photos".

That's it! As always, please allow some time for the newly published photos to be processed by Picturelife before they're visible in your Picturelife library. Learn more about the Picturelife Lightroom plug-in:
