What is the system tray or menu bar?

Throughout our Help Center documentation, we refer to the system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) - these are the bars located along the top or bottom of your computer operating system desktop. Your system tray or menu bar contains the Picturelife, icon which can be used to access the Smartloader preferences menu.

When you install the Smartloader, Picturelife adds a Picturelife icon to your system tray or menu bar. From this icon, you can track your upload progress, access your Picturelife library, and set and adjust the desktop application's preferences. The system tray or menu bar and the Picturelife icon appear in different locations, depending on your computer's operating system.

Mac OS X

The menu bar appears at the top of the screen and looks like this:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

The system tray appears at the bottom of the screen and looks like this:

If you don't see the Picturelife icon, it might be automatically hidden by Windows. Click on the white arrow to show all of your system tray icons. Click on the Picturelife icon to access the Smartloader application menu.

For easier navigation on Windows, we suggest that you pin the Picturelife icon to your system tray.
