I have followed the instructions above, but the family members I have invited can not see anything when looking at https://picturelife.com/#/family.
When I use the search function and enter "shared with family" I see nothing from my own account - even though I have tagged hundreds of photos with "make visible to family members". At first I thought there could be a delay, like when I edit a picture and it says "your change has been saved and will available soon". Now we have waited for weeks for the family stream to start working and still nothing at all appears. We have tried on desktops using various browsers (iMac and Windows 8 PC) and the mobile app on iOS.
Also, I get "Picturelife cannot complete your request at this time. Try again later" quite often. I am on a stable 100 Mbit cable connection.

I want people I share my account with to be able to see all of our photos. My husband and I want a common picture store we can both see. Please enable this functionality.

I'd like to see if this function is possible as well. I decided to try Picturelife for the family stream function assuming that I can share the entire album. It'd also be nice to be able to see friend/family share as well. Please bring the function back.

Yes, please. My family can not see my family shares, even between those of us on a shared family plan.

I hope this feature comes back soon - it's one of the key features I'm looking for in a photo management service. The current sharing interface can be hard to work with - and I'm almost always sharing to the same three people.

"Family stream has been temporarly disabled" This must mean that there is a time programme and plan when it is going to be available again. Can you please add some information on this issue.

Please reinstate or improve this feature. I just upgraded my plan from Premium to Family for the specific purpose of sharing storage and sharing photo streams among my 3 family members. I only discover that family streams are disabled AFTER committing an additional $30 to Picturelife. I'm not getting anything for that added expense at the moment!!

Ok...perfect have the exact issue...valuable info that obviously is already addressed...I'll join the the same queue of "need to have".

Yes, it has been addressed since 25th of October, so an update of this issue would be welcome..

Hey everyone! We recently released the Conversations feature as a new, awesome way to quickly share photos and videos - if you haven't seen it yet, check out this short explainer video & FAQs - https://support.picturelife.com/hc/en-us/articles/202323939-What-are-conversations-and-how-do-I-use-them-video-

We are updating the Family sharing experience to be more in line with Conversations and to be more user friendly so yes, we plant to bring it back in an improved interface. I don't have an exact date now but will update this article when I have more information I can share!

Hope you enjoy using Conversations - a lot of love went into this sharing feature :)

So... We are now in the throws of the Holiday season, the time we would be really wanting to UTILIZE the family sharing experience, and we don't have an exact date? I have to say this is less than brilliant timing. Additionally, I upgraded to a family plan as others have noted in this thread. Of what use is it without this KEY feature. But oh joy, I can now have a conversation...

I don’t know about everyone else here, but I’d really like to know if the return of this feature is a matter of days, weeks, or months (years?). My feelings on Picturelife sour day by day as this important feature of a service for which I am paying remains unavailable.

Are paying customers like us entitled to some sort of compensation for this unexpected crippling of functionality? A free week of service for each month the feature remains disabled for users who had paid subscriptions before the feature disappeared seems reasonable to me.

Totally agree Kevin, it seems it's hard to take Familystream back online...and it will take more than a few months... I was trying to convince my family members to use picturelife, but until now without luck.

I'm investigating and considering alternatives right now.

I'm not a paid member yet, so can't complain to hard though.

Would it be possible to get an official update from Picturelife on this topic? I agree with the earlier postings that we should be entitled to some form of pro-rated compensation, particularly if we have signed up for a family share plan.

I'm just deciding to subscribe to family pack, but now I found out that family stream doesn't exist anymore. Will you enable it again?

  • Avatar

Well, it looks like the same arrogance as Apple, just don't answer questions of consumers. Or do they fail just like Everpix or Loom. How hard can it be to activate an former feature or answer a question like "Would it be possible to get an official update from Picturelife on this topic?"

With the acquisition by Streamnation can we expect that Family Stream functionality will be fixed?

    Hi David,
Nothing is impossible indeed. We see a lot of enthusiasm in this feature, so we will definitely look at implementing it.
But unfortunately, I cannot promise you anything yet.

    Thanks,

I'm very frustrated by the removal of the family stream feature. I spent weeks marking photos to share with family, guided my extended (mostly elderly) family through the setup process, and about a month after I set it up, the feature is GONE. Now after the long silence, you still cannot commit to bringing it back? I'm going to be looking for a new photo storage system as soon as I can find the time to do so - and it's a huge undertaking. Very disappointed.

Where is Family Stream??? I know you've been busy being bought, but we have been waiting long enough for you to bring this back. Conversations is nice, but quite cumbersome, it takes up a lot of space on the left side of the screen, and it's too hard to see all the names you might want to add to the share (therefore you may miss adding someone to the conversation).

This is not good. I started to use Picturelife just because of Family Stream, and you have disabeled it? When will it be back?

  • Avatar
    Picturelife Support

    Hi Morten,

Picturelife has been recently acquired by StreamNation. We are currently integrating the service into their platform so you can use both services with the same credentials. Some cheaper plans for both services will also be offered. Once this is done, we will be able to add again some new features on Picturelife, including Family Stream.

I signed up for Picturelife specifically so my wife and I could effectively use one account to combine the streams from our phones. The ability to have a shared pool of family photos is what differentiated Picturelife from the competition and made it useful. Since the acquisition there seems to be no timeline to restoring the one reason I (and some others, looking at the thread) signed up in the first place. It has been a very long time and no date has been set for the feature's reactivation. Put yourself in your customers' shoes. What motivation is there to continue?

Hi Kevin, sharing with family members is one of the top features we want to add back. We have been working very hard these past months on the integration of our service on the StreamNation platform, and are still working on it. Once it is done, we will be able to add those kind of features back. Sorry again.

Just bought a subscription just for the family album sharing. Is there any alternatives for collaborative albums while this over a year old feature gets worked on or should I cancel this and begin my search again.

Why do you still have it listed as a feature and apart of the paid service when your currently not offering it?

Although I have already subscribed to the Family Plan, I am seeing bunch of amateurs.. web site is slow, the information is way outdated. Is taking users as fools as many of the features NO LONGER AVAILABLE... the word soon.. of features taken off.. is taking months.. and YEARS! i hope a competitive product is way better than this... i don't get the business people at PictureLife.. If feature is NOT available.. take them off.. and start giving discount to users while features are rebuilding. I am sure most of us is tire of hearing excuses
